Welcome to the new website of Scoil Naomh Fionán. 

I hope you will find this an informative site where you will get a glimpse of life at Scoil Naomh Fionán, or as it is know locally ‘The Rennies’. Scoil Naomh Fionán, a Catholic primary school under the patronage of the Bishop of Cork and Ross, is located in the picturesque countryside just outside the village of Nohoval. On a clear day we are very lucky to be able to enjoy beautiful vistas of the sea….wet, windy days are a completely different story, but they too have their beauty!

In recent years the school has changed dramatically growing from a two classroom building with two prefabs to a school with five mainstream classrooms, two special classrooms, three SET rooms, an occupational therapy room and two sensory rooms.  The main difference, however, is that we are all now working under the same roof. 

Whilst the school has expanded in recent years it still maintains its small school atmosphere where ‘everyone knows your name’.  We aim to provide a broad and balanced learning experience for all children. We participate in a variety of sporting and musical events. In recent years children have also had the opportunity to engage in Junior Entrepreneur Programme, The Young Scientist Programme for Primary Schools, Discovery Science and Maths Programme, The Credit Union Quiz,  Feis Maitiú, Scór na nÓg competitions. We also have four Greenschools flags.

Our school provides an inclusive environment where it is our aim that all children and staff members  ‘begin and end each day with a smile!’
